Regulation of the telecommunications market encourages and ensures open access to public telecommunications services for all users on a transparent, objective and non-discriminatory basis, prescribes and ensures the quality level in the provision of telecommunication services and equipment with generally accepted standards in the European Union, protects the interests of all users of telecommunication services in terms of availability of these services, quality and price, which are transparent and non-discriminatory.

Competencies of the Agency in regulating the telecommunications market include licensing of fixed and mobile telephony operators, Internet service providers and network operators. The Agency also creates and implements the Plan on the Telephone Service Numbers.
